  We spent a magical evening under warm September skies at Mateus Bistro. We were treated to gastronomic food and delicious drinks and wines. The service was great and Chef Matt made us feel at home. We will return again soon. Nova Scotia is lucky to have a dedicated restauranteur like Chef Matt!

  I've eaten brunch here in the past and enjoyed the meal. Went for supper today however and experienced slow service and poor food quality. The halibut was dry and overcooked and the panko crusted haddock pieces on my plate were cooked to different levels, with the main piece being slightly over cooked. The remaining items on the plates were good however. On a value for money rating, for $100 dinner there are better choices.

  My friend and I stumbled across this charming little bistro while on a roadtrip to Mahone Bay....so glad we did! We both ordered Matt's Classic Burger and thought it was quite possibly one of the best burgers either of us had ever had! Then the desserts...omg...so amazing!
